Sam Lutaalo-Kiingi is a deaf Ugandan academic. He is currently on the Editorial Board of The World’s Sign Languages, a board member of the Deaf Empowerment Foundation and on the Sign Language Expert Board for the World Federation of the Deaf in Finland.
Sam’s thesis for his PhD in Linguistics was focused on the reference grammar of Ugandan Sign Language. Sam is a role model whose life shows that being deaf need not limit the potential of a deaf Ugandan child, if only he or she can be given the right support. |
